Poll of my small readership
If you are a regular reader or even occasional reader of this blog I am curious what type of posts you enjoy reading the most. Do you come for the tales of Arivaca Man? Are you one of the few people actually interested in deported nationalities in the former USSR? Does my so far futile quest to get a lowly academic instructorship provide you with a sense of Schadenfreude? Or is it some completely different reason? Prehaps the very witty remarks of my regular commentors attracts you to this blog? Let me know what you like best.

Hi Otto,
I like to read about Arivaca, since Chris and I will be moving there soon. I have actually learned some Russian history here and that is always a good thing! It will be good to meet you in a few weeks,
Sara, Chris' better half.
I like the personal stuff: stories about your life and reader comments. I put on my student hat when I read your history posts... and stay wide awake, too! Your history posts can be very academic. I can understand them, but they do not make for easy reading. Everyone likes stories. When your history posts are more story-like, they are definitely more interesting.
Deported nationalities in the USSR, please. I'm learning a great deal.
BTW, do you have anything to add on the subject of Soviet Islam?
The Arivaca posts are quite fascinating, I have to admit.
I'm just waiting to see your dad duke it out with Camicao's dad... ;)
I think the personal stuff about your job search situation is interesting, but I'm also worried that it might come back to haunt you at some point... such is the world we live in...
Personal stuff, Arivaca, comments, everything that smells like human;
and like chris says - "the history posts don't make for easy reading" ( do not make for - another new and weird expression for me!)and well, they are mostly about minorities in Russia, which is an old theme for me so I usually skip them, the one on Navajo brief history was interesting enough for me to go through it. Just stay yourself and write whatever you want :D
Everything, really. :) But especially the personal stuff and the posts about deported nationalities in the USSR. I'm a voracious consumer of information and I find it absolutely fascinating (not to mention often applicable to my own research - my guess is that I'll end up citing you in a paper at some point).
All of it, actually.
I come for all the ex-USSR stuff. But also, it has to be said, my guilty pleasure is tuning in to see what biblical plague you will suffer next.
I shall rot in hell for it, of course.
Otto,
I enjoy everything. I especially I need to know what you are up to. I don't want to hear you killed the modem again. That causes me concern and a lot of effort to get fixed long distance. What about your computer. I received a new modem today. I am not sure how to hook it up.We will see tomorrow or this weekend. Mom is still talking to you. No more problems, I hope.
Obscure history, diasporas and such like, although the personal stuff's interesting as well.
(I've never had the balls to do a comparable poll on my site, although I've toyed with idea for ages. It'd be too disappointing when nobody responded. Well done.)
Eurasian-region history , especially, but all of it, really
