Another international link
As I mentioned below I got a comment from a woman in Estonia this morning. She has kindly linked to this blog. So in keeping with my policy of reprocity I am returning the favor. Kristin or KIT has an interesting blog called Big Brave Cohones that is quite different from most of the blogs in my blogroll. She also has a blog in Estonian, but my grasp of non-Indo-European languages is complete rubbish. My blogroll is now up to 16.

HEY :D
Im very flattered but you really shouldn't have!!! I bet my blog is very different from others that you you have put up on your list, it's quite private (haha), well let's say PERSONAL then..no? LOL. I'm a crazy woman, that's all. But I am really thankful that you commented my blog, I felt kind of "awwwww...." feeling :P Well you seem a very nice person and actually I hoped that you were an Estonian too (due to your name) just ended up there middle of nowhere...KIDDING! Don't you speak ANY Estonian at all? You said "tere" in my blog :D is it all you know? Oh, and by the way - I have never been to the USA before but maybe I will one day (if I'm lucky) and then I will visit you for sure, so beware!! And of course I would bring some chocolate with me, I know very well that there's nothing to compare to it. OK, it's my bed time now, HAVE A GREAT DAY and see ya around ;))
Kristin
P.S. I'll take the SOUL test too, thanks for sharing!
Kristin:
No, I am afraid that I am not Estonian, but rather an American of Russlanddeutsche (Germans from Russia) descent. I have been mistaken for being of Estonian heritage before on the basis of my name. Most amusingly at the Tallinn airport by immigration. Pohl is a pretty common German name. So anywhere they went including Estland and Livland it appears among the natives.
I speak very little Estonian. Enough to get bus tickets, order food and that kind of thing. I try and learn a little bit more each time I go to Estonia.
HEY :D
Yea, your name... German would have been my second guess, of course. My grandfather's name was Ewald Brandt which was changed to Evald Prant after the Russians came in. O well.
How come you visit Estonia so often? It's such a godforsaken place with a shitty climate! Any particular interests? History?
Oh, 9:09 already! Gotta run....
HAVE A NICE ONE ;)
K.
P.S. Made an HUGE mistake and had to delete my previous comment! Wrote "before" instead of "after"! MY ENGLISH (rolling eyes smiley)
I'm too old to learn :((
Kristin:
Your English is fine. Estonia's climate is great in June especially compared to England. The last time I went to Estonia was for an academic conference in Tartu. The time before that was to use the Supreme Court Archives in Tartu. Tunne Kelam got me access to them. The first time I visited Estonia was in 1989 with my father who had some dealings with oil shale.
