Ebola is currently a major concern for people in Ghana. There have been hundreds of cases in nearby Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone as well as some cases in Nigeria. Coming into the airport on Saturday night I noticed that there were absolutely no medical precautions being taken to screen people coming into the country for ebola. Apparently, the borders of Ghana are equally
unprotected. It looks like
two Liberians infected with the disease have been admitted to the hospital in Ghana already. The government has now
banned international conferences in Ghana for the next three months to prevent the spread of the disease.
