1. It is almost impossible to get a really good beef hamburger outside the US. You can find decent ones if you look hard, but not excellent ones.
2. There is nothing scientific about social science, political science, or any other like discipline.
3. The best library in the world is the Library of Congress.
4. SOAS is the single best English language institution in the world for studying Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
5. Nobody will leave any comments on this blog post.
I see what you did there...
ReplyDeleteWhat about economics???
ReplyDeleteLet us now scientifically scrutinize this argument... ;)
ReplyDeleteDo you have stats on how many 'lurkers' (an unfortunate internet term) who follow you? Like me.
ReplyDeleteInteresting about the hamburgers. Which US hamburger do you judge the best?
I, personally, have had the best one somewhere in Beverly Hills, about 30 combos of ingredients to choose from, & first rate beef; but from a cheap-o chain, I like In-n-Out Burger the best. The least greasy, most fresh.
No iceberg lettuce - lettuce spoils the taste of beef. Extra sauce, tomatoes, grilled onions perhaps.
I don't comment b/c your blog, to me, is more like an absorbing book than an opinion piece.
You could get a lot of comments if you were a flame-thrower, like say, Michele Malkin, for example. But I wouldn't be interested, I'd be sickened.
Boshness:
ReplyDeleteI do have stats on lurkers. I do not have a whole lot of readers. For cheap burger chains In and Out is definitely the best.
I am sure you are aware that #2 is not "non-controversial". (Though I personally tend to fall on the less-scientific or non-scientific end of the social science spectrum.)
