At Famous U, where I used to teach, graduate students going on the job market were mentored intensely with regards to cover letters. In the job searches I've been on, a large number of cover letters are quite extraordinary, from an organizational and rhetorical point of view. I truly believe that the "cover letter" performance can make a difference. It's worth laboring over because it is the very first suggestion.<BR/><BR/>I recommend you copy people's advice from your blog to keep, and then erase your post on this subject and I'll do the same. While I don't think you've written anything to be ashamed of in your blog, it would be awkward for a potential employer to google you out of curiosity and find the cover letter post and discussion.
